The notion that beauty and empowerment go hand in hand has become more common in the past few years as social media has shown us just how creative people can get with their cosmetics. Makeup, specifically, has easily become one of the most popular beauty categories that people turn to when they want to express themselves through art, experiment with new looks and just have fun with their beauty routines.
For the editors of Beauty Magazine, makeup and empowerment can be as simple as swiping on the right shade of lipstick, adding length and lift to eyelashes, or just enhancing our skin’s radiance. It also doesn’t have to cost a small fortune to feel uplifted through your beauty — and we firmly believe that, which is why we turn to these L’Oréal Paris must-haves when we want a confidence boost.

L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Intense Volume Matte Lipstick
When I put on lipstick, my mood instantly changes. It makes me feel put together, confident, and ready to take on my day, no matter what I have ahead of me. This lippie has become one of my new favorite products exactly for this reason — it’s super pigmented and saturated, and every shade instantly gives a bold finish to my makeup look. I’ll swipe on a red for ferocity, or stick with my favorite neutral brown to up the ante of my makeup for fun.

L’Oréal Paris True Match Hyaluronic Tinted Serum
When my skin looks good, I feel like I can conquer anything, which is exactly why I’m obsessed with this tinted serum. I like to think of it as healthy skin in a bottle — it evens out my complexion and makes it look soft, hydrated and glowy. The hyaluronic acid-infused formula is great for my dry skin and dry patches, while delivering just the right amount of coverage that still looks like skin. I love a skin care-makeup hybrid and I know I’m going to have a good makeup and skin day whenever I reach for this.

L’Oréal Paris Bambi Eye Oversized Eye Washable Mascara Instant Volume
As someone with stick-straight eyelashes, I feel my most confident after using a product that lifts my lashes and enhances the look of my eyes, which is why I’m obsessed with this curling mascara. You can feel the mascara wand catch every single lash, creating an instant voluminous look. With just one coat of this mascara, I feel bright-eyed, bolder and ready to take on the day.

L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Instant Lift Washable Mascara
My eyes have to be my favorite feature to play up when doing my makeup so when I have a look that really accentuates them, I feel like I’m ready to take on the world. One product that I can’t live without has to be mascara because it’s the finishing touch to any eye look. This new Telescopic mascara in Black is a go-to for me because it gives me the definition and length that I’m always looking for. After applying it, my lashes are lifted and I feel like my eyes look bigger and more open. Whenever I use it, I know I’m going to have a great makeup day.

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Full Wear Concealer up to 24H Full Coverage
As a dark skin woman, shade range and undertone matching is so important when it comes to concealer and foundation. Finding a concealer that doesn't give me an ashy or pale look is vital to making me feel confident in my skin when I wear makeup. This concealer comes in more than 25 shades so I don’t have that problem. I use the shade Honey for my highlighting concealer and the shade Coffee to contour. I pair these concealers with my True Match foundation for a flawless base. I feel empowered when I find a concealer that brightens the hyperpigmentation under my eyes. When I wear makeup I want it to look effortless and natural, enhancing my features.

L’Oréal Paris True Match Hyaluronic Tinted Serum and L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Foundation
Anyone who knows me understands that makeup is not typically what I reach for when I want to feel untouchable, but that’s only because I’m not the most skilled at putting on a face of glam. That being said, I do have my fair share of hyperpigmentation, and when I can cover these dark spots but also feel like my skin doesn’t look airbrushed or fake, I feel my best. When I want sheer, natural coverage I reach for the tinted serum (especially in the summer) and when I need to mask a really stubborn spot I enlist the help of this foundation. When I put these on I feel like my face and my natural features are highlighted; not the dark marks my complexion has been plagued with over time. It’s like my inner beauty and outer beauty now match.
