Step 1. Apply the Pre-Shampoo Treatment 

The first part of the trio is the pre-shampoo or pre-poo treatment. Wet your hair, and apply the treatment from the mid roots to the ends of your hair. Set a timer, and leave it on for five to 10 minutes before you rinse it out.
