This Is My Go-To Mascara When I Want To Skip A Lash Lift

I got a lash lift for the first time earlier this year, and I was obsessed immediately. My lashes looked naturally long and curled like they would with mascara, but without the clumping and unwanted black residue. Plus, it was great to not have to remove my mascara every night  (which can sometimes be a multi-step process). But, lash lifts are expensive and temporary, and it’s definitely not in my budget to spend that kind of money once a month. 

So, I went on a quest to find the mascara that could give me the same lifted and lengthened effect — without being too expensive (over $20 for me). After a long search, I found my match in the L’Oréal Paris Bambi Eye Oversized Eye Washable Mascara Instant Volume. L’Oréal Paris is famous for their mascaras, which are high quality, affordable (they typically cost less than $15) and convenient availability (you can snag them at your local drugstore). The Formula

Based on the name alone, you can guess that this mascara will give you the wide-eyed doe look, with a formula that’s able to lengthen, volumize, and curl at the same time. With just one coat, I noticed that my lashes already looked longer than any other mascara I’ve tried. I liked that the formula wasn’t too wet (which I’ve noticed with other volumizing mascaras), so it didn’t smudge while I was applying. I’m someone that uses multiple mascaras at a time, and the Bambi Eye mascara probably went on the smoothest and dried quickly. 

As I applied more, my eyelashes looked slightly thicker (but without clumping) and it gave them a delicate curl. After three coats, I loved that my lashes looked dramatically different from when I started. I would say that they were truly volumized, but in a way that still looked natural. 

The Brush

When it comes to choosing a mascara, the brush is of utmost importance. Even with a top-notch formula, if the brush isn’t up to par, the mascara might not work for you. What I love about this mascara’s brush is that its bristles are separated enough to evenly coat every lash, which contributes even more to the doe-eyed effect. 

I usually prefer a fluffy brush for volumizing mascaras, but this one has a mixture of short and long bristles to get the inner and outer corners of the eye perfectly — meaning each individual lash is covered. This alongside the actual formula leads to a bold but separated eyelash look.

At the end of the day, I found that it was easy to remove, and it didn’t leave any black residue behind. I also liked that my lashes never felt stiff or crunchy during the day, giving the effect that my eyelashes were just naturally that long. I may get a lash lift again in the future, but this mascara will definitely get the job done in the meantime.
