Insider's Look: The Camila Cabello Havana Makeup Collection

THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE CAMILA CABELLO MAKEUP COLLECTION

Speaking on her motivation for collaborating on a makeup collection, Camila said, “I wanted to create this makeup line with L’Oréal Paris because I wanted to create something that I personally would wear, and that I know people will love.” The star worked passionately with L'Oréal to develop the collection, taking inspiration from the natural beauty of her hometown, Havana, as well as her own (extremely covetable) look. From the packaging design to the product shades to the fragrance of the lip glosses, Camila was able to work on each element of the collection to build a line that is authentic to who she is. And that doesn’t just refer to her on stage persona. In fact, Camila opted to create a line that is perfect for creating natural makeup looks, as when she isn’t on stage or at an award show, she prefers to forgo a full face of makeup for a simple, glowy look. Additionally, it was important to Camila that the line work well for a wide variety of skin tones, ensuring it would be something all of her fans could use—and love.

HOW TO CREATE A CAMILA-INSPIRED MAKEUP LOOK

What better way to try out Camila’s signature look than by using her own products?

Step 1. Bronze key areas. For a contoured effect, apply the liquid bronzer to the hollows of your cheeks, forehead, and along your jawline.

Step 2. Sweep shadow across your lids. There’s no need to spend lots of time blending eyeshadows onto your lids. Simply smudge the Oh-Na-Na shade (a shimmery bronze) onto your lids for a quick wash of shadow.

Step 3. Apply eyeliner—and wing it. You can’t forget Camila’s cat eye. Start by lining along your upper lash line, then add a small wing for an everyday look or a bigger one for a red carpet-ready look.

Step 4. Define your brows. Get perfectly groomed brows by using short hair-like strokes to fill in your arches.

Step 5. Finish with a coat of gloss. Almost done! Top off your bare lips with a little lip gloss in whichever shade flatters your skin tone.
