Skin Hydration
Skin Soothing
Exfoliant

Amongst the beauty remedies found within household items, olive oil proves to be one of the most diverse. It helps to increase skin hydration and helps prevent skin irritation. In addition, olive oil may serve as a base for homemade exfoliants.

Olive oil is fat derived from an olive, and is primarily composed of oleic acid, palmitic acid, and fatty acid. Its unique balance of fatty acid composition enables it to retain vital nutrients, which thereby improve skin hydration. In addition, olive oil also contains high levels of antioxidants, such as Vitamin E and polyphenols, which help to defend the skin from skin damaging free radical.1-2-3

Olive Oil is commonly used to soothe the skin. Clinical studies also show that prophylactic use of olive oil helps soothe skin, alleviating skin discomforts.4-5
