If you're still swooning over the gorgeous couture dresses and glam makeup moments at this year’s Met Ball, you're in good company because so are we. With a theme that paid homage to late fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld, the room was filled with striking displays of glamour, timeless beauty, a cat (or two) and lots of tweed and pearls.
Supermodel and tequila maven, Kendall Jenner, turned heads at the Met in a cheeky, sequin bodysuit, sky-high platform boots and an entire face of L’Oréal Paris glam. That’s right, celebrity makeup artist, Mary Phillips used an entire lineup of L’Oréal Paris skin care and makeup to prep and glam the supermodel for her ‘70s mod makeup look that you can seriously call makeup goals. If you’re hoping to recreate the look on your own, here’s every product that was used to achieve Kendall Jenner’s Met Gala makeup.

Get the Look: Kendall Jenner’s Met Gala Makeup Look
In her Instagram post, Philips shared that her inspiration for Jenner’s Met beauty look was, ‘70s mod makeup. Here’s a makeup breakdown and every product she used to achieve her luminous skin, classic winged eyeliner and fluttery lashes, below.
Skin
The secret behind Jenner’s luminous glowy complexion is hydration. Phillips started off by priming Jenner’s skin with the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum, the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives 1.5% Hyaluronic Acid + 1% Caffeine Eye Serum and the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives Micro Hyaluronic Acid + Ceramides Line-Plumping Water Cream. All three of these products are infused with hyaluronic acid, making them great for replumping, hydrating the skin and aiding in moisture retention.
Complexion
Phillips is social media’s reigning underpainting queen, so it’s no surprise she chose to use this tried-and-true makeup technique for Jenner’s glam. For contour, she repurposed the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Makeup 4-in-1 Tinted Face Balm Foundation in Medium 20 and Deep 10. This product is actually a tinted foundation balm, and its creamy consistency melts into the skin, so it works great as a cream contour.
For concealer, Phillips chose three shades of L’Oréal Paris Infallible Full Wear Concealer up to 24H Full Coverage to highlight, conceal and brighten Jenner’s skin: Vanilla, Cashmere and Biscuit. Following along with the viral underpainting technique, Phillips continued with foundation, using L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear Foundation in 425 Linen and 455 Natural Buff for Jenner’s base. This formula has a radiant finish and medium coverage, which is really important when underpainting because it allows the underlayer of contour and highlighter to still peak through the foundation.
Next, Philips used the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Grip Mechanical Gel Eyeliner in Brown Denim to lightly dot some faux freckles across Jenner’s cheeks and nose. To set the face, Phillips opted for the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Up to 24H Fresh Wear Foundation in a Powder in Vanilla. This face powder provides weightless coverage and a long-wearing, sweatproof, matte finish to the skin.
To sculpt Jenner’s cheekbones, Phillips selected the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Up to 24H Fresh Wear Soft Matte Bronzer in Medium. Then, she used the L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Blush in Tender Rose to add some rosy color to the apples of Jenner’s cheeks. To highlight the model’s face, Phillips chose the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer in Light. Jenner’s skin was glowing — not sparkly or greasy — so this viral highlighting lotion did the trick.
Eyes
For Jenner’s dreamy eye makeup, Phillips shares that they were, “inspired by ‘70s mod makeup with an emphasis on the eyes [and] bold lashes to compliment the upper and lower lash lines with a classic winged line.”
For the natural shadows, Phillips picked the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude and for the wing at the outer corner, she chose the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Grip Precision Felt Waterproof Eyeliner in Black. As for lashes, Philips went with a lifting and lengthening mascara, the new L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Instant Lift Washable Mascara.
She then applied the L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Definer Mechanical Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brunette to lightly fill in Jenner’s brows and finished with the L’Oréal Paris Longwear Brow Topcoat Waterproof Universal Transparent to set them in place.
Lips
To complement the ‘70s glam, Philips kept Jenner’s lips pink and neutral, using the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lip Liner in Au Naturale to lightly overline the lips, and the velvety and long-wearing L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Intense Volume Matte Lipstick in Le Nude Admirable to fill them in. Jenner’s look was simultaneously ethereal and sultry — and the best part is it’s affordable.
